Musician Wanlov the Kubolor from Ghana has expressed worries about Ghana’s planned anti-LGBT law in an interview with Nkonkonsa TV, calling it alien and potentially detrimental to people other than ga.ys.
The Promotion of Proper Human S3xual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill, as it is called, might have an adverse effect on asexual persons who are not sexually attracted to anybody, according to Wanlov.
He questioned if penalizing people for not having sex was justifiable. As a result, he labeled the law as hostile and alien.
How about the ase.xual population? those who have never felt sexual attraction to anything or anyone. No one has sex with them. They declare themselves to be as3xuals. Wanlov noted ethical issues with the law as well, noting that it may push individuals to report their loved ones who identify as LGBT because doing so would render them equally culpable.
“Here in Ghana, we have always been g@y. We are aware that we have friends and relatives. Why do you want to see them locked up then? Why do we wish to imagine ourselves in prison, then? Because the statute makes it clear that failing to notify an LGBTQ person you live with makes you equally responsible, he claimed,
