Following the assassination of American rapper, Tupac Shakur, numerous investigations were conducted, and for 27 years it has been suggested that a member of the California-based gang known as South Side Compton Crips known as Duane Davis, a.k.a. Keefe D, has been arrested as the primary suspect. On September 7, 1996, legendary American rapper Tupac Shakur was struck by four rounds fired from a 40-calibre Glock and died in Las Vegas Valley, Nevada.

Three other men believed to be in the white Cadillac the night of Shakur‘s shooting have died, with Davis as the last living suspect. Shakur and his entourage attended a Mike Tyson fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, where Shakur and Knight saw Davis's nephew Orlando Anderson in the hotel.

Surveillance footage showed Shakur and Knight beating Anderson, but the fight was stopped by hotel employees. Davis started planning revenge and gathered Anderson, Terrance Brown, and Deandre Smith to go with him in the infamous white Cadillac. Las Vegas police searched his house on July 17, capturing multiple computers, 40-caliber bullets, photographs, a cellphone, a hard drive, a magazine featuring Shakur, and a copy of “Compton Street Legend.” 

He was the passenger in a white Cadillac, with Orlando Anderson acting as the shooter; Davis was apprehended in September 2023 after a raid on his wife's home in Henderson, Nevada, involving items related to Shakur's murder. In 2018, Davis confessed to his involvement in Tupac Shakur's murder, admitting he was dying of cancer.
