Mariam Abdul Aziz And Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah are the parent of Prince Mateen.  Since Brunei's independence from the United Kingdom in 1984, Hassanal Bolkiah ibni Omar Ali Saifuddien III (  born on July 15, 1949, has served as both the country's prime minister and as the country's sultan since 1967.

Mariam Abdul Aziz  (born on January 29, 1956) is the ex-wife of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah. She was married to him from 1981 to 2003. Sultan and Mariam are 77 years and 67 years respectively.
