Prince Mateen, born on August 10, 1991, is the fourth son of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei. Growing up in the royal family, he had a privileged upbringing but remained grounded and down-to-earth. From a young age, he displayed a passion for sports, particularly polo and football.
Prince Abdul Mateen represented Brunei in polo at the 2017 and 2019 Southeast Asian Games, with 3,000 spectators. In 2007, he led the AM Gunners in a charity football match against Projek Ikan Pusu, collecting B$12,192. A charity match was held in 2008 with Sport School.
As he entered adulthood, Prince Mateen pursued a military career, serving as a dedicated officer in the Brunei Armed Forces. Mariam Abdul Aziz And Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah are the parent of Prince Mateen. Since Brunei's independence from the United Kingdom in 1984, Hassanal Bolkiah ibni Omar Ali Saifuddien III ( born on July 15, 1949, has served as both the country's prime minister and as the country's sultan since 1967.
Mariam Abdul Aziz (born on January 29, 1956) is the ex-wife of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah. She was married to him from 1981 to 2003. Sultan and Mariam are 77 years and 67 years respectively.
