He signed a five-year, $245 million contract with the Broncos in September 2022.

Russell Carrington Wilson was born on November 29, 1988, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Wilson excelled at Collegiate School in Richmond, Virginia, earning multiple awards and honors. He attended Manning Passing Academy.

As a collegiate, Wilson played college football at North Carolina State University and later transferred to the University of Wisconsin. In the NFL, he was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in 2012 and has been their quarterback ever since. Wilson has achieved numerous records and accolades, including being a Super Bowl champion, a Pro Bowl selection, and holding the record for the most touchdown passes by a rookie quarterback. Wilson, a freshman quarterback at NC State, led the team to a 4-3 record and was named first-team All-ACC quarterback. He graduated with a BA in communication and took graduate-level business courses. Wilson was signed to Wisconsin in 2011, leading the Badgers to a 6–0 start and a no.4 ranking in the AP Poll. He was named first-team All-Big Ten and won the Griese-Brees Big Ten Quarterback of the Year award. Wilson set a single-season record in the 2012 Rose Bowl.

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Josh Wilson signed a four-year, $2.99 million contract in 2012. He made his preseason debut against the Titans and started his first regular season against the Chiefs. In 2022, the Seahawks traded Wilson to the Broncos, who traded him to the Broncos. Wilson completed 29 of 42 passes for 340 yards and one touchdown but was sacked more than any other quarterback in Week 14. The Broncos had the league's worst-scoring offense. In March 2023, Wilson underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee.

He also won the 2019 MLS Cup as part owner of Seattle Sounders FC.
