In a TikTok video, Shatta Wale revealed this recollection. In reaction to several journalists who had criticized him, he made the video.

Shatta Wale claims that because he had greater privileges in high school, some of the media figures that criticize him are acting in that way out of anger, having come from difficult backgrounds where their parents were unable to provide for them.

“I recall my time in high school. Compared to others, I had a good life. Unlike some of my peers, my chop box was constantly bursting at the seams with food. With roughly ten cans of Milo, I could go to school,” he remarked.
