Lillian Crombie Husband: Was Lillian Crombie Married?

Late Australian actress and performer Lillian Crombie was born in 1958 into the Pitjantjatjara/Yankunytjatjara tribe. Her roles in theater, film, and television helped her become well-known. Crombie attended the Port Pirie Ballet School to receive classical ballet training, and she was awarded a scholarship to Dance Concert Limited in Sydney. She also enrolled in a dance and acting course at Redfern's National Black Theatre.

Crombie joined the National Aboriginal and Islander Skills Development Association (NAISDA) as one of their first intake of students in 1976 and joined the performance arm of the organization, the Aboriginal Islander Dance Theatre (AIDT).

She applied for and won a scholarship via the Department of Employment, Education and Training (DEET) and the Australia Council to go to the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in New York City. She also trained at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) and the Eora Centre.

Crombie toured with AIDT on its first international tour to Nigeria in 1977, along with Wayne Nicol, Michael Leslie, Richard Talonga, and Roslyn Watson. She worked with Stephen Page and performed at fundraising events for HIV/AIDS. In 2019, she was recognized with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Equity Foundation for her contribution to the arts.

Crombie's credits include Mereki the Peacemaker, Conversations with The Dead, Gunjies, Capricornia, The Cherry Pickers, Rainbow's End, Mystery Road, Lucky Miles, Double Trouble, and Ring of Scorpio. In 2015, she founded the Lillian Crombie Foundation to support Indigenous families' travel needs for Sorry Business. In 2019, she was recognized with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Equity Foundation for her contribution to the arts.
