Saddick Adams Pleads WIth Government To Dissolve Committee Who Lead The Road Map To Hire The Next Black Star Coach

The Ghana Football Association unveiled the process for selecting the new coach of the Black Stars, appointing a five-person search committee to assess candidates and submit recommendations for approval to the Executive Council.

This came about on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, when Chris Hughton was fired as the Black Stars’ coach.

Mark Addo, the vice president of the Ghana Football Association, will preside over the search committee. Legal practitioner and professor Ace Ankomah (Esq.) will serve as vice chairman of the search committee. Other members of the committee include William Caesar Kartey, chief director of the Ministry of Youth and Sports; Opoku Nti, a legend in Ghana football; and Professor Joseph Kwame Mintah, director of coaching education for the GFA.

 

A lot of stakeholders find it wrong to have a committee to investigate what is wrong with Ghanaian football, as they think the people who lead the committee to lead the search for a new Black Stars team are the same people who are the problem of the Black Satrs.

Thus, sports journalist Saddick Adams has pleaded with the government to dissolve the committee.

Taking to Twitter (X), Saddick Adams wrote:

Dear @NAkufoAddo;

With all due respect, dissolve the committee that is to search for a new Black Stars coach. The next coach will be paid thousands of dollars with our taxes. Respectfully ACT as a leader who cares about the image of the country. Football is one of the biggest tourism avenues. Instruct your minister of sports to instruct the GFA to issue an apology to the entire nation and fans for the embarrassment. Hold on with the search and get a caretaker manager for the team. Demand an emergency technical and management report and budget of the AFCON and get neutral experts to properly investigate and appreciate the ills of the campaign. Be a leader! Do not encourage mediocrity and be rewarding incompetence. That has never been the Ghanaian standard. Your reign has characterized two successive most disastrous AFCON campaigns in our entire history. DISSOLVE that sham of a committee before they even start the walk to no where.
