The criticism and controversy surrounding viral images of Ghanaian musician and entrepreneur Okyeame Kwame in his boxer shorts have prompted him to reply.


The images were posted on social media as part of an advertisement campaign for his new line of boxer shorts.

As he felt that bodies were only vessels and should not be taken too seriously, Okyeame Kwame, popularly known as the rap doctor, stated that he found nothing improper or immoral in the pictures he shared.


Since he was self-assured and at ease in his own flesh, he said that he was neither ashamed nor scared to display his body.

“Don’t we cover ourselves in public when we go to the beach? Why is our conception of the body so important to us? This body is not who I am. I am not my physical form. This body will eventually expire. He declared, “I am something more than just a body,” during a live Starr FM conversation with radio host Bola Ray.

Known for his avant-garde and imaginative wardrobe selections, Okyeame Kwame suggested that the discussion instead center on the advantages of the boxer shorts he was promoting.
