I didn't pay for artiste of the year – Agbeshie rebukes Rumours

Accra-based Volta artiste Agbeshie, born Agbeshie Denanya, has described as clueless, people who do not believe he deserves the prestigious ‘Artiste of the Year' award.
In a recent interview with Hogbe Radio's Don Zigi, when ask as to whether he bought the award for artsite of the year , He Answered “No, I didn't pay for artiste of the year”.
The fast-rising star confidently put himself up as the most eligible winner of the ultimate award at the Just ended Volta Music Awards. He believed his hard work had surpassed all, and was deserving of the award.
Some stakeholders of the industry, however, raised concerns over the ‘Original' singer's eligibility for the award.

Critics believe the Artiste of the Year at this year's awards, has not crossed the boundaries of Volta and has been described as quite a ‘Local champion'.
However, Agbeshie, speaking in an interview on #VoltaMusicHour with Don Zigi, said, “looking at the effort I've put across last year, I strongly believe no artiste in Volta has done it and I strongly believe i desrve artiste of the year plaque.”
“I strongly believe that if a lot of people are following me, they'll surely believe that Agbeshie deserves the Artiste of the Year, because he is doing a great job,” he responded to critics who doubt his eligibility.
