The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has allegedly secured an arrangement with Borussia Dortmund, a German football club, for interim coach to be released for a year in order for him to manage the Black Stars in the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

After defeating Nigeria for a ticket to the 2022 FIFA World Cup, the former Ghanaian player masterminded the Black Stars' qualifying.

Ato Addo is now a scout and assistant coach for the Yellow and Black, and once the GFA and the squad reach an agreement, he will be in charge of leading the team to the World Cup, where Ghana will attempt to redeem itself after the humiliation of 2014.

Before the World Cup playoffs, Addo was chosen as interim coach. Chris Hughton served as a technical advisor to him, while George Boateng and Mas-Ud Didi Dramani were also named to the technical team.
