VGMA19: The 9.0 Questions SM Militants must answer – Sellally Writes

We live in a country where when things go wrong, we leave the source and begin to focus on its outcome.

When someone stabs you once and you kill him to prevent his next attempt which could lead to your death, people will ask why you killed him when he only stabbed you?

Why don't you run away from him when he was coming for the second time? others will ask.

Now! Why should he even stab me in the first place? Why could he not use the diplomatic avenues available to seek redress rather than stabbing me and then coming in for the second take?

Everyone is now blaming me for killing him and I am asking if there is any limit for self-defense because one that I know of should be sustained until the threat is no more and my safety is guaranteed.

I believe you have an opened mind by now to follow this argument and to do a proper assessment of what transpired at the VGMA yesterday?

So, the big question is, WHO CAUSED THE FRACAS?

If we are able to identify the person that caused it, then we can have the best way to resolve this whole issue.

Shatta Wale won two Awards – HIGH LIFE SONG OF THE YEAR and DANCEHALL SONG OF THE YEAR both of which he was not present to pick by himself. He was represented by his “Militants”.

Few minutes before the DANCEHALL ARTIST CATEGORY would be mentioned, he arrived while pooling all the attention to himself. I don't want to believe he was so sure he was going to win that particular category to concretize his position as the real KING OF DANCEHALL and to make a strong statement that it was because he was serving a ban that was why STONE BWOY had won it severally.

The tension that built up within seconds when Abeiku Santana was about mentioning the winner was virtually tangible. Those of us watching from our homes could feel it and it was as though we were right there in the auditorium.

Finally, it was announced, and it was not SHATTA WALE, rather, it was his arch-rival – STONE BWOY.

Few seconds after Stone mounted the stage and was about delivering his message, there was SHATTA WALE and his MILITANTS moving towards and actually climbed the stage.

WHAT FOR? WHAT A HECK WAS HE LOOKING FOR ON THAT STAGE WHEN IT WAS THE TIME FOR HIS ” RIVAL” TO MAKE A STATEMENT?

He posted on his timeline a few hours after things have gone sour and if I want to paraphrase that, they meant WELL and that STONE was excessively paranoid to have pulled out a gun and many commentators on social media have also said that SHATTA might just be going on the stage to congratulate him and to create the atmosphere of unity and support for a brother.

REALLY? Maybe we will find out after the 9.0 questions below.

( 9 ) IS THAT HOW IT IS DONE?

( 8 ) MUST IT NOT BE KNOWN TO THE TWO PARTIES?

( 7 ) DO YOU SURPRISE YOUR “ENEMY” IN PUBLIC?

( 6 ) WHY NOT WAIT WHEN THE PERSON IS DONE WITH HIS ACCEPTANCE SPEECH FOR YOU TO WALK UP THE STAGE? THAT IS IF IT IS EVEN NECESSARY.

( 5 ) WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO MOUNT THE STAGE TOGETHER WITH YOUR MILITANTS?

( 4 ) WHY DID YOU HAVE TO ANGRILY LIFT CHAIRS EVEN BEFORE APPROACHING THE STAGE?

( 3 ) WOULD IT HAVE BEEN BETTER IF YOU JUST STOOD WHERE YOU SAT TO SALUTE A BROTHER OR DOFF YOUR HAT OUT TO HIM OR SIMPLY SHOW SIGNS OF EXCITEMENT FOR A BROTHER'S ACHIEVEMENT?

( 2 ) WHAT WAS THE GRIMACE ON YOUR FACE FOR?

( 1 ) SHOULD STONE BWOY HAVE WAITED UNTIL YOUR INTENTIONS MADE KNOWN ON STAGE BEFORE HE REACTED?

(.0 ) THE 3MUSIC AWARD THAT SAW SHATTA WINNING ELEVEN AWARDS DID NOT RECORD ANY COMPETITOR OF HIS MOUNTING THE STAGE IN SUCH RAMBLE STYLE TO CONGRATULATE HIM, HOW COME HE CHOSE TO DO IT TO SOMEONE ELSE?
