You Can’t Pressure The Government With A Tweet – Edem Tells #FixTheCountry Protestors
Ghanaian award-winning rapper Denning ‘Edem’ Hotor, popularly known as Edem has advised ‘Fix the Nation’ protesters to rise above the ‘finger wars’ and threaten the government violently if they want important issues discussed.
Ghanaians have been storming the Twitter site with the #FixTheCountry protest to attract the government’s attention to the country’s woes for more than 48 hours.
Some actors, such as John Dumelo, Efia Odo, Yvonne Nelson, and Lydia Forson, have joined the march, bringing attention to some of Ghana’s most urgent needs.
When a fan begged Edem to stop dripping on social media and join the rally, the “Over Again” hitmaker told the fan straight up that tweets couldn’t make a difference.
He did, however, include what seems to be the right response or what will produce a better outcome, stating that the best solutions are “dialogue, recommendations, and the formation of pressure groups.”
“U people be getting the bags and be dripping on us..u can’t help us pressure the government abi?,” Asked, the twitter user.
“U can’t pressure government with a tweet, you can however do it with dialogue, recommendations and forming pressure groups that can’t be penetrated with tribal games and Political associations.”Edem replied.
“Massa we can always start from somewhere. Just keep lurking in the shadows and watch us pressure them with a hashtag. #FixTheCountry and #FixGhana enimguasi fuo,” a tweep said.
Another tweep stated: “Very true Edem, it’s so sad that it’s start genuinely like this then in the end some tribes or political parties captalize on it for their selfish gains.”
