If President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo bows to demands to pay customers of the defunct gold dealership company Menzgold, television personality Afia Schwarzenegger has threatened to mobilize thugs to assault him.
According to her, the government, through the Bank of Ghana, warned the entity’s clients not to invest with it because it lacked the required licenses to operate.
The customers, on the other hand, advised the government that it should shut up because the company was properly licensed and doing business.
In response to their demands, Afia Schwarzenegger stated that she would not sit by and watch the President pay clients of the defunct firm.
“The MenzGold situation is delicate. The Bank of Ghana issued a statement warning Ghanaians not to do business with Nana Mensah Appiah. Customers of MenzGold came out and begged the government to stay silent so that they could operate.
We would trap the President and rough him up if he uses our resources to pay these corrupt people. If the President wants to bribe these rich people with our hard-earned money, it would be a disaster. “The MenzGold issue is a sensitive issue, and if you try to criticize the government on it, you will be sorry,” she said in a Kingdom FM interview that was rebroadcasted by MyNewsGh.com.
