Shatta Wale, Sarkodie And Two Other Ghanaians Win Awards At The 2021 IRAWMA
On Sunday, May 16, 2021, the International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA) celebrated their 2021 edition.
The 2021 edition, which also happens to be the 39th IRAWMA, saw Ghana win four games in a row. Shatta Wale, Sarkodie, DJ Switch, and Kwame Yeboah were among them.
The award for ‘Virtual Entertainer of the Year’ went to Shatta Wale. He emerged victorious over Beenie Man, Buju Banton, and other competitors.
Even before the popular Reggae Sunfest, Sarkodie won the ‘Best Virtual Showcase/Concert of The Year’ with his Black Over Concert.
DJ Switch, the young disc jockey, was voted ‘Best Young Entertainer of The Year,’ while Kwame Yeboah was named ‘Instrumentalist of The Year,’ among other honors.
However,Desmond Kwesi Blackmore, better known by his stage name D Black, popular Ghanaian rapper and the founder of Black Avenue Muzik. He revealed that he had his first child while still in his final year of university.
The musician nicknamed “Enjoyment Minister” clarified that he was 22 years old when his girlfriend became pregnant and gave birth to their first child in an interview with Sammy Kay on the Go online show.
D Black went on to say that he wasn’t financially secure at the moment, didn’t have an song on the radio, and didn’t have much at the time, so he didn’t have the intention of aborting the child with his mother……continue reading
