“You Should Have Used Nero X Instead Of Kurl Songx For The Castro Tribute Performance” – Castro’s Promoter To VGMA

Sadick Assah, a popular Ghanaian music promoter known in showbiz as Sleeky Promotions and also known as Castro’s promoter, has expressed his dissatisfaction with the VGMA organizers’ choice to have Kurl Songx play in honor of missing singer Castro.

Castro, he claims, is a one-of-a-kind artist with exceptional voice, whose stage craft and music ethic are rare and should not be replicated by just any musician.

Nero X, in his opinion, was the finest artist in that position to play Castro songs since he sings in Fanti just like Castro, and his voice and craft can readily be compared to Castro’s. Furthermore, he sings in Fanti and understands it better than Castro does.

He went on to say that Kurl Songx sings in Twi and deviates from the words, emphasizing how difficult it was for him to even perform the songs and sing the lyrics, as he performed even Castro’s song in Twi rather than Fanti.

Sleeky concludes that the VGMA organizers have insulted Western Region musicians as a result of this.
