“Rappers Live On Hype, There’s No Money In Rapping” – Kuami Eugene Claims
Eugene Kwame Marfo, popularly known as Kuami Eugene, has said that rap music is not as successful as many people believe since all rappers get is hype.
Rappers do dominate the scene and become extremely successful over time, according to the singer who also doubles as a rapper, but they are unable to earn big financial gains from their trade, unlike vocalists who make a lot of money from their songs.
The “Bunker” hitmaker revealed in an interview with OnePlay Africa that his own evaluation of the two types of music affected his choice to forego rap in order to focus more on singing because it pays more than rap.
“Rapping isn't profitable.” Rappers rely on hype to survive. He remarked, laughing, that it's difficult to get money solely by rapping.
This may not be fully accurate, as there have been many rappers who have made a lot of money from their songs. Okyeame Kwame, Sarkodie, Kwaw Kese, and D Black are just a few examples. The aforementioned are recognized to be among of the country's wealthiest rappers, therefore Kuami Eugene's claims may not be fully accurate.
Kuami Eugene, in case you forgot, is also a rapper. He's been seen delivering a few bars on several big songs, and if he's not the best, he'll certainly be among the top rappers. He, on the other hand, prefers to concentrate on singing rather than rapping since he says the latter pays better.
