‘NPP Using My GO HIGH Song For Their Campaign Had No Bad Influence On My Career’ – Philipa Baafi

Ghanaian musician, has indicated that one of her songs being used as a political campaign song did not have any bad influence on her career.

It could be recalled that the musician's GO HIGH song was used by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as a campaign song in 2008 and there were beliefs that the song might have brought a negative influence on the career of the musician.

However, it seems all those who had such thoughts erred as the musician has stated that the song being used as a campaign song had no negative impact on her career.

She made this known in a recent interview she had with the popular Ghanaian media personality and show host, Kweku Bempong Burundy on Oman FM.

She was born in Kumasi on May 15, 1980, and she is the first of three children. Her parents are Ms. Grace Acheampong who was a trader, and Mr. Akwasi Baafi who was domiciled in Germany,

She started school at the Kings International School, before continuing at St Monica's, where she was the Girls' Prefect, the President of the Scripture Union, and the Science Club.

As one of Ghana's renowned gospel musicians, she released her maiden album dubbed Nyame Honhon Sane in the year, 1999 just after she had completed Senior Secondary School.

She dropped another album in the year 2002, and this time the title of the album is Mogya Nakasa, before following it up with Okyeso Nyame, in February 2004.
