“I Will Win Artiste Of the Year On My First Nomination” – Fameye

If he is nominated, Ghanaian artist Peter Fameye, better known in entertainment as Fameye, has stated that he will win Artist of the Year.

He stated this in a recent interview with Ghanaian program presenter Andy Dosty on the prominent Ghanaian radio station, Hitz FM.

This comes after he openly expressed his disappointment at not being allowed to participate in the Artiste of the Year category.

He said in his Hitz FM submission:

I was both pleased and dissatisfied with the VGMA for failing to nominate me in some categories. It's a dream come true for me to be nominated for Songwriter of the Year and Record of the Year.

When I am nominated for Artist of the Year, I am confident that I will win. I don't believe I was robbed. No one is capable of robbing Peter. “

In a recent submission, the Public Relations Officer of the organizers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Robert Klarh, explained why Fameye was not nominated for the Artiste of the Year category:

The plan is based on interest. We need to get the artist's permission first. We collaborated with Stonebwoy since he expressed interest in being nominated. We contacted R2bees, but they refused to consent, so we had to move on.

Exclusion of Fameye and Kofi Kinaata: You have a basket of names. They couldn't make it to the top six candidates in the Artiste of the Year category after all their discussions.
