Isaac Dogboe loses to Cuban boxer Robeisy Ramirez
Isaac Dogboe has declared that he will rebound spectacularly after losing to Cuban boxer Robeisy Ramirez for the vacant WBO featherweight championship on Saturday.
The title fight took place in Tulsa, Oklahoma, between the two competitors.
Ramirez won the title with a unanimous score of 117-110, 118, 109, and 119-108 on the judges' scorecards. After the battle, Dogboe admitted his mistakes and stated that he was unable to locate the additional equipment that would have given him an advantage.
Nevertheless, he expressed gratitude for the opportunity to compete for the title and said he would like to try again in the future. Here's what he said after the match;
“First of all, I would like to thank God almighty for the opportunity and coming out of the ring safely. I would like to thank my coaches and my team and everyone who supported me. Thirdly, I would like to apolpgise to my coaches and the rest of my team.
We did not get the decision today but we will definitely be back. We still have a lot of work to do. I fell short tonight.
Robeisy Ramirez, congratulations. He's a fantastic fighter. I'm not going to take anything from him. I suppose I was the aggressor, but perhaps I wasn't aggressive enough. I wasn't able to push as hard as my coach (Barry Hunter) would have liked, but I'll be back.”
