In her recently released book, “I am not Yvonne Nelson,” Yvonne Nelson continues to bar her soul. She shares the heartbreaking revelation her mother made about her being a mistake and her overwhelming wish to end the pregnancy.

When she thinks back on her early years, Yvonne says that music and the arts developed into her haven, protecting her from the possible loneliness and despair that came along with her sense of not quite fitting in with her own family.

Yvonne recalls her mother's abusive language, saying, “When my mother was upset with me and truly wanted to hurt me, she would tell me she had given birth to me by mistake. She understood my emotions every time she uttered them. She was aware that she was poking a sharp nail into my heart. She seemed to truly want to hurt me. Perhaps she was only being honest.

While she considered the deep emotional toll, she said that the effect of her mother's remarks left a permanent stamp on her spirit, continuously reminding her that she was not desired or cherished.

She made me feel terrible about my existence. I cannot imagine ever getting angry with my daughter and telling her that. And I do not think any child, for whatever reason, deserves such psychological torture,” he disclosed.

In a brave revelation, Yvonne unveils the shocking revelation her mother shared about the attempted termination of her pregnancy.

Yvonne discloses, “My mother told me that when she got pregnant, she did not want to have me, so she went to see a medical doctor to terminate the pregnancy. (My mother has told me that the doctor who saved my life is still alive, but she has not told me who he is or which hospital he worked in.) She took that decision in her sixth month.
