Sarkodie is allegedly reluctant to criticise the current administration since his family depends on it financially, according to social commentator Kevin Taylor.

Taylor asserted that Sarkodie's name was added to a watchlist as a result of the NPP government helping him smuggle drugs through Kotoka Airport.
