In a recent development surrounding the untimely death of the late Nigerian singer Mohbad, the Lagos Coroner Court in Ikorodu has confirmed that a toxicology test is currently underway in the United States of America to determine the cause of his death.

The state counsel, O. Akinde, made this revelation during an ongoing inquest on Wednesday, providing an update on the progress of the investigation.

Akinde informed the Coroner Magistrate, Adetayo Shotobi, that the autopsy focusing on the external body of the deceased had been completed, necessitating the need for a toxicology test to delve into the internal aspects.

The toxicology test, which has to do with the internal body, is being done in the US,” Akinde said.

The disclosure came in response to the persistent inquiries from the counsel representing the father of the deceased, David Fadimu, who sought clarification on the reasons for the delay in obtaining the test results.

Magistrate Shotobi, in the course of the proceedings, expressed curiosity about the choice of a foreign toxicologist, particularly considering the presence of toxicology laboratories within Nigeria.

The reason behind this decision was not explicitly outlined during the court session.

In other news, The police in Lagos state have said that they have informed Joseph Aloba, the father of late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba aka Mohbad, that he can collect the corpse of his son anytime he wants but he has refused to apply.

Recall that the mother of the singer released a video on Tuesday, November 21, saying that the body of the singer has been released to the father but he has refused for it to be reburied.
