Kwame Nsiah-Apau, better known by his stage name Okyeame Kwame, and his wife Annica Nsiah-Apau have released their first novel, titled “Love Locked Down.”

On Saturday, May 15, 2021, at the Ecobank Headquarters in Accra, the book that chronicles their love story and provides solutions to some marital and partnership issues was published.

Professor Kojo Yankah, the President of the African University College of Communications; Nana Nyarkoa Yankah, a queen mother at Agona Abodom; Matilda Amissah-Arthur, the wife of Former Vice-President Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur; and playwright Uncle Ebo Whyte were among the dignitaries who read at the launch.

Okyeame Kwame and his wife Annica spoke at the event, saying that their motivation for writing the book stemmed from the countless calls and messages they received from people seeking relationship advice.

“About four years ago, we wanted to compile all of our thoughts into a book because, like every other species of animal, we compete for the right to mate, the right to feed, the right to live, and everything else. But then we realized that part of being a person is being able to rise above these normal conflicts and resolve all of the conflicts amicably.” They stated.

They also mentioned that the novel took them four years to complete with the assistance of Kyei Amoako and Eric Gyekye Amankwah in the United States of America, who helped them organize their thoughts during the book writing process.

According to Okyeame Kwame, a part of the revenue from the book’s sales will be used to fund several social psychologists who have volunteered their services on www.lovelockdown.com to assist people with relationship issues.

Saxophonists Steve Bedi and Okyeame Kwame, as well as fast-rising crooner SugarLord, performed in the two-part show.

Bice ‘Obour’ Osei Kuffour, former President of the Ghana Musicians Union; Sammy Awuku, National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP); Akwasi Agyemang, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Tourism Authority; ace broadcaster Kwesi Kyei Darkwah, and highlife artiste Kuami Eugene were also in attendance.

Diana Hopeson, a gospel rapper, and Moesha Boduong, a social media star, were among the others.

EPP bookshops, Shell Stores, picked Total Filling Stations, and Kingdom Books all have the ‘Love Locked Down’ books.
