“Some Award Scheme Plaques Worth Just Ghc10” – Teflon Flexx Alleges

Ghanaian artist Akaateba Christopher Akanvarichaab, better known by his stage name , has claimed that several award systems in the country are using musicians.

Some prize schemes, according to the multi-talented musician, just buy plagues for GHc10 in order to deceive musicians in the guise of honoring them.

These schemes, according to Teflon, make a lot of money at the cost of the performers.

According to , the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) provide musicians with more than plagues, strengthening them and providing them with better possibilities than other programmes.

He told Rainbow Entertainment's DJ Slash that the VGMAs are a large stage with a lot of credibility.

”There are certain award schemes that have no weight; they simply nominate you and ask you to talk to your supporters about voting with their money, and at the end of the day, you get a plague. “Awards like these have no clout,” he continued.

According to him, it is past time for Ghanaian award systems to add value to their profession.
