Will Smith Punches Chris Rock On Oscar Stage After Jada Pinkett Smith Joke (Video)
During the 2022 Oscar broadcast, Chris Rock and Will Smith had a spat. When Rock took the stage to present the Oscar for documentary feature, he joked about Jada Pinkett Smith's shorn head appearing in “G.I. Jane.”
Smith then walked onto the stage and slapped Rock. Keep my wife's name out of your fucking mouth!” Smith raged at Rock, despite the fact that it looked like a joke at first.
Many in the Oscars crowd were taken aback by the brawl. Diddy was the second presenter at the ceremony, appearing to promote “The Godfather's” 50th anniversary celebration. “Will and Chris, we're going to fix this like family,” Diddy said of the matter. We're now moving forward with love. “Everyone, create a racket.”
Meredith O. Sullivan, Smith's publicist, stopped by during the commercial break to talk to him. During the intermission, Denzel Washington rose to talk with Smith discreetly. “Be careful at your brightest moment; that's when the devil comes for you,” Washington warned Smith during his best actor speech.
Following the event, Sullivan continued to pay Smith visits throughout each commercial break. Will Packer, the Oscars producer, also paid Smith a visit before the best actor category was revealed. Smith was nominated for his role in “King Richard” and went on to win the Oscar later that night.
During his remarks, Smith added, “Richard Williams was a staunch protector of his family.” He then apologized for his conduct to the academy and his fellow candidates.
Last year, Pinkett Smith said that she had shaved her head due to alopecia. Now at this point, all I can do is chuckle,” the actor said on Instagram. You're all aware that I've been battling alopecia. All of a sudden, one day, it simply appeared like that. This will be a little harder for me to conceal now. So I figured I'd simply share it so no one asks any questions. Mama's going to have to take it all the way down to her scalp so no one believes she's had brain surgery. “I'm going to be friends with this alopecia for the rest of my life!”
In the end, Questlove won the documentary Oscar for “Summer of Soul.” “I'm not talking about Smith smacking Rock,” Questlove replied in the Oscars press room when asked about Smith smacking Rock. The Harlem Cultural Festival is the subject of this discussion.
