“Government Must Tax Youtube Channels And Online Activities After E-Levy Is Passed” – Mark Okraku Mantey

Following the successful approval of the electronic levy, , the Deputy Minister of Tourism, has called on the government to now focus on some online activities.

He said that internet operations such as Youtube, Bolt Food, and others bring in some cash for the government.

In an interview with GTV in Accra, he stated that in order for Ghana to thrive, everyone must give their fair share through taxes.

Mr. Mantey supports the E-Levy because he believes skilled workers in the informal sector, such as masons, carpenters, and others, do not pay any direct taxes on their earnings but are quick to complain about poor infrastructure, poor road networks, and a slew of other issues that he cannot comprehend.

He claims that the E-Levy will help SMEs continue in business for longer periods of time, as well as help the government tax YouTubers, vloggers, and bloggers who earn money through social media and other online activities.

So I ask myself, how can we repair these problems that cause you to complain about things you didn't contribute to? Again, a tiny company organization emerges in a few years only to collapse due to an overabundance of taxes, so why don't we broaden the scope to assist in the reduction of corporate Ghana taxes so that we can disperse them so that they do not burden the few who have committed to pay for it? “

Do my creative people sell on YouTube, iTunes, Bolt Foods, Uber, and now people are buying clothing online? Do they pay any taxes to the government? “No, I believe we need to go strongly online and then cyber after the momo to see what we can gain from there,” he continued.
