I created Agbadza remix song for an existing dance – Banjui
Ahead of the release of his new single titled Agbadza remix / New Dance which featured Dadie Opanka, Budding Afro Dancehall artiste Banjui revealed to SwanQy Jay on Nyewase Radio in Kete Krachi that the single is a song he composed for an existing dance that was carved from the ewe traditional agbadza dance way back in school (Mawuli SHS, Ho) by some of his seniors. Banjui described the dance as interesting and added that it can suit any form of music.
He revealed that after some years he met one of the creators of the dance, they talked and laughed over school memories, then agbadza remix dance popped up so he decided to do a song for the dance. Quizzed how Dadie Opanka landed on the song, Banjui stated that Opanka has been a close ally for years and he felt it is Opanka who can spice up the song hence Opanka blessing the song with a verse.
Banjui added that a dance video will accompany the song so fans should watch out.
Touching on the woes of the Ghanaian up an coming musician, Banjui described the system as a tight one making it hard for them to penetrate easily. He added that the spotlight is always on the A List artiste so it is difficult for the up and coming arts to be noticed. The agbadza remix crooner believes its God's timing ; thus when it is time for an up and coming artiste to breakthrough nothing can halt it.
