Shatta Wale’s feature with Beyonce helped me seal an Afrobeat deal – Sarkodie
Rapper Sarkodie says Shatta Wale's collaboration with Beyonce won him a contract, We can report.
According to him, he was outside Ghana to seal an Afrobeat deal but his partners were reluctant to sign but because they didn't understand what Afrobeat was but Beyonce released her song with Shatta Wale the same week and that earned him the deal.
“So I was out of the country to sign a deal which was dragging for days. I had a deal with some white people. The same week Beyonce released her song with Shatta Wale and after that, the people who were dragging their feet signed the deal for me,” Sarkodie told Dentaa.

For him he felt Shatta Wale's feature on Beyonce's album opened the door for him in that deal and therefore found the need to support.
He said there is the need to support Ghana and Ghanaian artistes but the Ghanaian selfishness has been a bane to the growth of the music industry and even the country.

The Rapper known as the “Highest” noted that if the Lion King Album did well, it will be a blessing to the country because other musicians across the world will want to tap into the Ghanaian market for features and that will help build the industry.
He noted that the selfishness is a Ghanaian thing but called on all to eschew all forms of selfishness and support each other because the rippling effect is of enormous benefit.
