“Life Is More Important Than Money” – Mzvee On The Ban Of Musical Concerts

Vera Hamenoo-Kpeda, best known by her stage as MzVee, a sensational Ghanaian vocalist, concedes that while the concert ban is impacting the industry, it would be unwise for entertainers to force the government’s hand.

She expressed her sadness that COVID-19 has hindered performers from having fun, engaging with fans, and earning money during concerts, and she emphatically underlined that safety standards must be followed.

“It is unfortunate we can’t contact with our fans and all and also get paid for having fun with them but you can’t put their money before lives,” MzVee remarked, referring to President Akufo-ban Addo’s on musical concerts to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic over a year ago.

She told colleagues musicians to sit tight and hope limitations are eventually “loosened up a bit more so we can get back to concerts” in an interview with Rev Erskine on Y107.9FM’s Myd Morning Radio show.

“Things are starting to look alright and to really open up from where I’m sitting, so it’s not too bad.” We’ll make it,” she added.

Ghana reported its first case of COVID-19 in March 2020. To stop the virus from spreading further, the President banned social gatherings and eventually shut down the country.

Other limitations were eventually loosened after the lockdown was lifted. Funerals, marriages, concerts, theater events, and parties are all prohibited, although “private burials with no more than 25 people present” are permitted. Beaches, nightclubs, movies, and bars would also be closed, according to President Akufo-Addo.
