“I Was A Music Promoter For Nana Ampadu” – General Mosquito Reveals
Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has paid tribute to Nana Kwame Ampadu, the late Highlife star who died on September 28, 2021.
Nana Ampadu, also known as ‘Adwomtofo Nyinaa Hene,' or ‘The King of All Musicians,' composed approximately 800 songs. On Tuesday morning, the former leader of the African Brothers Band, which was founded in 1963, died at the age of 76.
Mr Asiedu Nketia, who revealed his professional association with Nana Ampadu, was formerly a music promoter for the highlife legend.
“As a music promoter, I worked with Nana Ampadu, Alex Konadu, Adofo, and other highlife superstars in the nation before I ever entered into active politics,” the Ghanaian politician said in an interview with Okay FM.
The demise of the veteran musician came as a shock to the NDC General Secretary. “I was more concerned about Adofo, who hasn't been feeling well for a while, only to learn of Ampadu's death at the airport, which stunned me.”
