Shatta Wale And His Boys To Appear Before Court Today
Dancehall superstar Shatta Wale and three colleagues will come before the Accra Circuit Court today, Tuesday, November 9, after being granted bail of Ghc 100,000 apiece last month.
After reportedly arranging a phony gun attack on the award-winning artiste's life on Monday, October 18, they are facing accusations of false news dissemination.
It came after a prophecy by Bishop Stephen Kwesi Appiah, also known as Jesus Ahuofe, who said that the artist would die in the same manner as South African reggae sensation Lucky Dube. On October 18, 2007, he was fatally shot at his Rosettenville house.
Since then, the man of God has been arrested and released on bond.
However, Shatta Wale and his accused accomplices, Kojo Owusu Koranteng, Idris Yusif, and Eric Venator, who had been remanded for a week in the Ankaful Maximum Prisons, will appear in court again on Tuesday, November 9 to continue the substantive issue.
He has subsequently apologized for his actions – he turned himself in the day after the event – and advocated for the country's jails to be reformed.
