‘Sika Mp3 Dede’ Trends After Akufo Addo’s Speech
Yesterday evening, Ghanaians were all ears as they tuned in their television sets to listen to the first gentleman of the state address the current economic hardship in the country as he also gave hope to the poor and vulnerable in society.
Before beginning to speak about the hardship, President Akufo Addo made a proverbial statement in three different languages, which lame Ghanaians have used as a trend, despite the fact that some say the proverb the president gave made no sense.
During the speech the president said:
Fellow Ghanaians, as the French would say, l'argent n'aime pas le bruit, to wit, money does not like noise, sika mpɛ dede. Where there is chaos, where there is noise, where there is unrest, you will not find money.
