Azumah Nelson Loses Mother

Azumah Nelson, the legendary boxer, lost his mother, Madam Comfort Atwei Quarcoo, who passed away on January 2, 2023.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Mr. Nelson said that his mother had been ill for some time and had died at home.

He said, “I spent time with her three days ago and could see she was in pain, but now she is at peace.”

He emphasized that this was a celebration of life and said, “This is a celebration of life after raising her children well and seeing her grandchildren. She has done very well and deserves some rest.”

“The Bible says we should give thanks to God in everything, so we thank the almighty for this one as well,” the boxer explained.

Professor Zoom Zoom Nelson, as he is commonly known, is regarded as Africa's greatest boxing champion of all time. He also asked for prayers for his family and said that information about his burial would soon be made public.
