Ghanaian rapper and songwriter, Kayso Kelvin Mawuli, better known as Mawuli Younggod, has warned his fans and people who compare him to other musicians, especially the old gees who have been in the music game for years and from whom he is learning.
What may have triggered his post on Facebook is still unknown, but the young rapper, who has accepted not to be in competition with anyone in the industry, revealed that it had been three years since he discovered his music purpose and took it seriously.
Moving on, he stated that he is in the industry to motivate, preach love, and do good music—nothing less, nothing more.
Taking to Facebook, he wrote;
Stop comparing me to artist that have been in this music game for decade. It's been only 3 years When I discovered my true purpose is music & I took it serious.
You can never understand God until u believe in his timing. I'm not here for competition. I'm only here to preach motivation, spread love and do good music that will change a soul.
Thanks to the streets for always having my back 💙🙏. Forever grateful
