Ikuforiji Olaitan Abdulrahman, better known by his stage name Oxlade, has been prosecuted by the Lagos High Court in relation to his leaked s+x tape.

One may remember that the artist made headlines in 2022 as a result of a social media s+x video leak. The woman in the video, who goes by the name Blessing, accused him of distributing the recording.

The artist was forced to apologize to the audience and the woman after receiving several criticisms.

Despite 's apology, Blessing filed a lawsuit for N20 million in damages and a declaration that had gravely violated her fundamental rights to dignity, privacy, and freedom from discrimination by secretly recording the explicit s+xual acts without her knowledge or consent. These rights are protected by Sections 34 and 37 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), as well as Article 5 of the African Charter on Human and People's Rights.

The recording and internet release of the audio, according to Justice Olalekan Oresanya's judgment of January 24, 2023, are “despicable, horrible, ugly, and classless.”

The judge further chastised Oxlade for insulting the judicial system and charged that his attorney had helped Oxlade disrespect the court.

Next, it was requested that the singer give the claimant N5 million in two equal installments of N2 million and N3 million.
