Nana Opoku-Kwarteng, the late Ebony Reigns' father, has paid tribute to his daughter on the fifth anniversary of her passing. He says that she will always be loved, cherished, and pampered by her family, friends, and admirers.

At the ceremony to mark five years since the demise of his daughter, Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng, Mr. Opoku-Kwarteng made these comments.


On February 8, 2023, Nana Opoku-Kwarteng addressed a group of family and friends in the Osu Cemetary that included an old man who seemed to be of European descent.

In a mixture of pride and sorrow, he described his daughter's accomplishments.

She was an exceptionally talented singer. “She has left her imprint on Ghana,” he said.

He hit the ground with his stylish cane and held it up to the gravestone of the former singer, saying, “I should say she is the first-ever female performer to have received the most prestigious award in [this] country of ours, here in Ghana.”


“Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng” was her name. She was referred to as Reigns once more. He continued, “She left us five years ago today,” and described how Ebony passed away in a car accident on Thursday, February 8, 2018.
