Fuse ODG Plans To Launch Educational App For African Children
Nana Richard Abiona, better known as Fuse ODG, a British-Ghanaian singer, songwriter, and rapper, appeared on 3Music TV earlier today to discuss his plans to launch an educational app as well as create an initiative to help Ghanaian artistes develop their craft over time in order to make it marketable to the rest of the world.
He stated a project he plans to create called School Of New Africa (SONA) as an advocate for promoting Africa and focusing on children having the right ingredients in their upbringing. This is an educational software that teaches African youngsters about their history.
This application is intended for children over the age of seven. He said that parents can sign up their children for access to this educational program, where they can put tokens in their wallets to act as rewards for their children as they learn about their ancestors.
Fuse is restoring rural schools, promoting the Year of Return, and organizing Accra-based festivities. He has also created a collection of dolls inspired by powerful African women to instill in youngsters pride, acceptance, and inclusivity.
Fuse went on to suggest that the government should give special attention to the creative industry because diasporans come to Ghana to gain experience in a country greatly affected by music.
Following that, he underlined the need for Ghanaian artistes to spend time together in order to build trust and transparency among themselves, which will allow them to tap into the knowledge that is easily available from conversations about brand partnerships, record and distribution deals.
Fuse became the first Ghanaian to win a Grammy Award in 2018 for co-writing Ed Sheeran's Divide album which won the Best Pop Vocal album.
