It's quite unfortunate how a Ghanaian songwriter and highlife sensation has lost his father, who was also a great songwriter and legend of the highlife genre.

On May 16, the artist posted the breaking news to Instagram with the comment “RIP Daddy”.

Kwadwo Akwaboah is best known as the singer of the well-known song “Awerekyekyere,” which he recently rewrote alongside his son, Akwaboah Jnr.

Many people paid attention to the song's reworking, which was backed by a superbly recorded studio performance, and it received a ton of airplay.

Additionally, Akwaboah Sr. was a talented keyboard player who performed for numerous national and international bands.

Even after losing both of his eyesight, the icon continued to play music in a few films that were discovered online before he passed away.

His death's cause is still unknown.
