In a recent interview with Kwame Dadzie on Accra-based Joy FM's Showbiz A-Z show, Ghanaian rapper Kwame Nsiah-Apau, better known as , disclosed that his father was worried that he would become a musician because he was worried that he would become a drug user and addict.

He remarked in the interview, “We fought from when I was 14 until when I was 21 when he said, ‘Okay, go ahead and become a musician.'”

He explained that this was because, once he turned 20, his father saw that he could not be persuaded to give up on his aspirations to become a musician.

He described how a negotiation took place and mentioned that his father had made him swear to abstain from drugs and to finish his first degree.

According to the rap musician, this same concern is the reason why the majority of fathers protest when their kids “go into the arts.”

, also known as OK, mentioned cases when senior colleagues in the music industry and media figures suggested “drink this, smoke this, take this pill” to deal with “butterflies” in the stomach or stage fright, suggesting that these parental worries are frequently grounded in truth.

He said that stage fear “is natural” and disapproved of the use of strong medications to manage it.

He acknowledged that the medicines will “lower your inhibitions, and once your inhibitions are lowered, you're able to express yourself, which is true,” but he worriedly questioned, “What happens after that expression?”

According to Okyeame Kwame, he has received “like a million” suggestions to utilize drugs to improve his performances.

On the other hand, “I could hear my father's voice everywhere I went.” When you get to your hotel after landing in Europe for a gig, the first two individuals who arrive will bring marijuana and ask you where to go to see the females and other things.
