Usher defeated the self-proclaimed “African Giant” in the Outstanding Male Artist of the Year competition. His song “City Boys” was defeated by his fellow countryman Tems’ “Me & U” for the Outstanding International Song award.
Burna Boy’s “Sittin’ On Top Of The World,” featuring 21 Savage, lost to Megan Thee Stallion’s “Cobra” in the Outstanding Hip-hop/rap song category. Chris Brown’s “Sensational,” featuring Davido and Lojay, won Best Duo/Group Collaboration (Contemporary).
His album, ‘I Told Them…’ lost the Outstanding Album of the Year category to ‘Jaguar II’ by Victoria Monét.
