“President Akufo Addo Was My Father’s Lawyer” – D Black

D-Black, the CEO of Black Avenue Muzik, has denied rumors that he is a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The President of Ghana, he claims, was his father's lawyer, and the congratulatory tweet after he won the elections was merely a polite move.

D Black said on ShowBiz927 with MzGee that people shouldn't read too much into his post-election tweet congratulating the President.

He said that he was not photographed with the President because he was a member of a political party. He listed a couple of occasions when industry representatives were welcomed to the President's residence.

Desmond Blackmore was adamant that having his photo taken with the President meant he was endorsing a political party. He also said that he confronted Bridget Otoo, a journalist, because she was being rude.

“Let's set the presidency aside,” D-Black said. That's a 72-year-old gentleman. What exactly do you mean when you say “who told you what not”? That's nonsense. And accept my apologies. That is what I cannot claim for someone in authority. You don't speak like that, whether you're from the NDC or the NPP.”

He also accepts that the country, as well as our attitudes, must be fixed. He said that promises made to the creative industry had not been kept, and that the music industry was in dire straits.

“The music industry is a joke,” he added. We don't have a scheme in place to raise royalties. We don't have the right corporate processes in place.”

He also cites how a change in attitude will go hand in hand with a change in governance.
