Kay Smooth, a Ghanaian musician, boasted that he is more popular than Shatta Wale and Samini, two of Ghana’s most prominent dancehall artists.

He made his comments after claiming that Shatta Wale and Samini asked him for a favor, making him more prominent than they are.

“We all know Shatta Wale is very popular, and Samini is also very popular,” Kay Smooth said in an interview with Angel Fm. “But you can imagine, the one you call popular today, who we call Shatta Wale or Samini, was once upon a time, the one you call popular today, who we call Shatta Wale or Samini, was once upon a time, the one you call popular today, who we call Shatta Wale or Samini, was once upon a time, the one (came for favors). Shatta Wale came to see me, so if I wasn’t well-known at the time or if no one knew who I was, he wouldn’t have gone out of his way to see me.”

He claims he was the one who introduced Shatta Wale to Terry Bonchaka, the late Ghanaian rapper.

He also claimed that after recording a masterpiece with Terry Bonchaka in 1996, Samini asked him to put him on his album.

“I recorded Azaa girl with Terry Bonchaka at Nana King’s Ashanti International around 1996, and Samini asked me to put him on my record,” he explained.

In these situations, Kay Smooth feels that he is more popular than both dancehall artists, despite the fact that they have earned fame and admirers through the years.
