George Kwabena Adu, also known as Kwabena Kwabena, the Ghanaian singer, has expressed his dissatisfaction with the invasion of scandals and negativity in the Ghanaian entertainment industry.
In an interview with Abeiku Santana on Okay FM’s Ekwansodwodwo, Kwabena Kwabena remarked that the days when musicians in Ghana coexisted happily without propagating negativity or trashing another person’s skill are long gone, but the same cannot be said of the current business.
According to him, because of the absence of peaceful cohabitation among artists in the country, celebrities are unable to seek assistance from their peers owing to unnecessary competitiveness and banter.
He used the recent multimillion-dollar fundraising plan launched by Nigerian artist Davido as an example. Davido, according to Kwabena Kwabena, called on his Nigerian colleagues to surprise him with money, even revealing the names of four musicians from Ghana who would be involved in the initiative.
He says that while Davido has been able to form positive connections with the Ghanaian names he cited, Ghanaians would never be able to do the same.
