“I Discovered Kofi Kinaata” – Dr Pounds

Maximous Mensah, best known as Dr. Pounds, the Ghanaian media figure, has disclosed that he uncovered Martin King Arthur, better known as Kofi Kinaata, one of the finest highlife singers of our time.

According to Dr. Pounds, he used to organize rap bouts between rappers from Cape Coast and Takoradi, and Kofi Kinaata was already Kasahare with Kwame Amofa of Melody FM in Takoradi at the time.

In an interview with Deloris Frimpong Manso on the Delay Show, Dr. Pounds said Kofi Kinaata defeated all of the rappers he brought from Cape Coast, and as a result, he became friends with him and began coaching him in the art of rap music.

He said that the “Fante rap god” was so brilliant at rap that he would conceal him when other rappers came for battles because they were terrified of him.

Until Kofi Kinaata signed his five-year deal with High-Grade Family, which is owned by Samini, the renowned radio program host went from studio to studio with a pendrive containing Kofi Kinaata's songs, urging producers and radio presenters to listen to and promote him.

Dr. Pounds also stated that he is not shocked that Kofi Kinaata is doing so much for himself, despite his separation from the High-Grade Family, since he saw in him the potential for greatness.
