“This Year, I’m Releasing An EP On My Birthday” – Kofi Kinaata Assures Fans
Ghanaian singer Kofi Kinaata has declared that an EP consisting of seven songs will be released this year.
For more than 10 years on the Ghanaian music scene, Kofi Kinaata, also known as West Gold to many of his admirers, has never put out a collection.
But thanks to his solo recordings and features, he’s become one of the nation’s top musicians and is becoming well-known abroad.
Among other notable honors, Kofi Kinaata is credited with winning Songwriter of the Year at the Ghana Music Awards three times in a row.
The Made in Taadi hitmaker has been under pressure to create a music collection to solidify his competence despite these accolades.
In an exclusive interview with ShowBiz Today, an Empire FM weekend entertainment show, Kofi Kinaata, however, stated that he is not bothered by such pressure since he is not willing to engage anyone in his industry.
But he did admit, “I had even wanted to drop it last December, but I delayed it. This year I am releasing an EP on my birthday, April 15th.”
For people who have been requesting a body of work, he said, “It will be at least a seven-song EP.”
He went on to say that whether or not he releases an album will depend on how well the EP does.
