At the majestic Al Thumama Stadium in Doha, Qatar, ten-man Morocco achieved World Cup history by becoming the first African country to secure a spot in the semifinals.

The North African nation upset Cristiano Ronaldo's highly anticipated Portugal 1-0 in the opening quarterfinal game of the day.

The current World Cup offers the continent of Africa its best chance, thanks to Morocco. 

Morocco became the first African country to advance to the men's World Cup quarterfinals after Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou saved a shot by Portugal forward Ronaldo.
