Nsawam Prisoners Play Football Gala To Honour Christian Atsu

, the former Ghana international who lost his life in Turkey a few days ago, was remembered during a memorial service held by the Ghana Prisons Service. Some prisoners also participated in a football tournament in his honor.

By making donations and helping certain convicts get their penalties paid off, Atsu was well recognized for his strong support of the nation's prisoners.

Staff members of the Prisons Service and a few prisoners participated in a football game in his honor while sporting jerseys that Atsu had presented to them.

Many of the detainees were left feeling saddened by the footballer's passing, according to Vitalis Aiyeh, the Ghana Prisons Service's chief communicator.

The Nsawam Male Prisons held a memorial church service for him yesterday [Thursday, the day before the last funeral rituals at the State House], and it was well attended. “Prisoners were quite emotional,” he said on TV3.

In honor of , a football game between officers and inmates served as the event's grand finale. The jersey Atsu bought them was actually worn by them.
