Ghanaians don’t care about my mental health they keep asking me when am I going to school – Yaw Tog
Yaw Tog, a Ghanaian musician, has disclosed that Ghanaians are more worried with when he will begin his college education than with his mental health.
Cookie Tee of TV3 New Day inquired about the 20-year-old singer's return to school.
The drill rapper, born Thorsten Owusu Gyimah, responded, “Everywhere I go when are you going to school, people don't even care about my health.”
“How are you doing?” he added, “has turned into When are you going to school?”
According to Cookie Tee, Ghanaians are indifferent with his upkeep and mental wellness.
The award-winning rapper confesses to being depressed for some time. His team and management, on the other hand, have assisted him in overcoming despair. He attributed his sadness to overthinking and being too young.
The 20-year-old rapper said he's been on the low working on his album, ‘Young and matured' and trying not to stress his life about certain things.
The ‘Sore' hitmaker said he has developed thick skin since he started music due to the lessons from the industry and the backlashes he has received so far.
When Cookie Tee questioned why he names himself Akwaada Nyame, he replied, “I feel like I'm doing something that a grown-up doesn't do, I feel like I'm doing way too much.”
The teenage rapper also shared his delight at the success of his ‘Sore' remix, which features Stormzy and Kwesi Arthur.
Yaw Tog is most known for his viral song “Sore,” which featured O'Kenneth, City Boy, Reggies, and Jay Bahd, as well as a remix with Kwesi Arthur and Stormzy. He recently released the single ‘Obra,' which is doing well across all streaming platforms.
