I Went Back To School Because Of The Promise I Made To My Late Father – Amerado
Ghanaian rapper Amerado has listed one of the numerous reasons why he chose to continue his education by enrolling in the University of Ghana, Legon, as a higher institution.
Amerado was reportedly accepted to the University of Ghana, Legon, earlier this year to pursue a degree in political science.
The rapper revealed that he chose to return to school in order to keep a promise he made to his late father in an interview with MC Yaa Yeboah on Bryt Extra, an entertainment programme presented on Bryt TV.
He added that he lost his father not long after graduating from senior high school (SHS), so when he learned that his father was ill, he promised him that he would continue his studies no matter how long it would take.
“I promised my late father that I would return to school no matter how long it would take. This is because I entered SHS after he passed away, and I promised to keep my pledge to him when I learned he was ill. He once remarked that I was the brightest of his children, so I made the conscious decision to do well in school.
Since my father kept every promise he made to me while he was alive, I've come to realise that if ghosts are real, then I must keep my commitment to him as well. That way, he would be happy wherever he was, Amerado said to the host.
