Samini named Shatta Wale as the top reggae dancehall musician and talent when asked during an interview with Bella Mundi on the TV3 Day Show.
Since they first appeared on the scene in 2004 and 2012, respectively, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy have dominated the Ghanaian and African reggae-dancehall genres.
Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy have been engaged in a competition over who is the reggae dancehall king for about ten years, during which time they have both amassed a number of highly wanted accolades and successes.
Samini said, “Shatta Wale comes from my era, and I think he has more under his belt than Stonebwoy. Stonebwoy is still coming up.” when asked why he chose Shatta Wale over Stonebwoy.
